Marguerite Stuber Pearson

Marguerite Stuber Pearson, American. 1898-1978.

Born in Philadelphia, Marguerite Stuber Pearson contracted childhood polio but overcame her condition
to have a distinguished painting career. She summered in Rockport, MA, and studied with Edmund Tarbell,
William James, and Aldro Hibbard. By 1941, she had established a home and studio in Rockport. Pearson
became very successful and her paintings received many awards. Her exhibition list is extensive, including the
Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), the National Academy of Design in NYC, the Corcoran Gallery
in Wash. D.C., and the Rockport Art Association. Pearson's paintings are included in the collections of
many museums and private collections.
